Miss Kandis - Founder & Director
Kandis is the founder and program director at Miss Kandis: Preschool & Tumbling. She started gymnastics when she was just 6 years old and stuck with it all the way to the college level where she competed on full-ride scholarship for Brigham Young University from 2003-2006. She even had the opportunity to compete for BYU at the National Championship in 2006. Kandis specialized on the Balance Beam but the Floor exercise was always her favorite to perform because she loves to dance.

Kandis has more than 20 years of gymnastics/tumbling coaching experience. She first began coaching at BYU at the Summer gymnastics camps while she was a student at BYU. Before Kandis decided to start her own preschool and tumbling program, she was the Tumbling Director at Avondale Academy of the Arts in Cedar Hills, Utah for 2 years.  She graduated from BYU in 2007 with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and a Minor in Sociology. After graduating, she worked at BYU for 2 years as the Athletic Marketing Coordinator for the Women's Gymnastics team, and Women's Volleyball team.

Kandis has 10 years experience teaching preschool. However, she has had a large variety of opportunities teaching children throughout her life. Kandis has taught classes at her church ranging in ages 18 months to 18 years. She was a volunteer Cub Scout Cubmaster for 3 years and has coached three seasons of preschool aged soccer. On top of all that she is raising 4 boys of her own!

Kandis loves the summer season where she can slow down and enjoy life with her family. She loves to spend time outdoors and doing things that keep her active including walks, hiking, biking, yoga, weightlifting, boating, paddle boarding, etc. In her free time you can find Kandis either at the lake or in the mountains soaking up all that nature has to offer.

Miss Amy - Preschool Teacher & Music Specialist
Amy has enjoyed careers focused on children beginning at age 15 when she began teaching dance and tumbling classes at the studio where she trained. Amy is married to her best friend and is the mother of 2 and stepmother of 5. Her absolute joy comes from watching her children find passion in life and fulfilling their dreams.

Miss Shantelle - Preschool Teacher
Shantelle was born in Utah but had the privilege of living in California and Oklahoma before returning to Utah at the age of 15. After high school she attended Southern Utah University then transferred to Weber State University where she earned her bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Zoology. It was during her time here that she discovered her thirst for learning and her desire to teach. Shantelle and her husband have 7 children ages 2 through 17. Her family is her whole world. She also enjoys creating and being crafty (crocheting, painting, woodworking, just to name a few), camping, swimming, and cooking/baking (also eating).

Miss Mari - Toddler Time Teacher
Growing up with a mom who taught preschool from home, Mari fell in love with teaching at an early age. She went on to study elementary education, TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language), and music at Westminster University in Salt Lake City. Mari then worked as an elementary school teacher, private tutor, and substitute teacher before having her own children. She has lived in four states and moved nine times! Mari currently teaches piano lessons and is thrilled to be getting back into a "classroom" setting. She feels that children learn best through creative arts, movement, choice, and play, so she is passionate about incorporating these elements in her teaching. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, exercising, hiking, and playing the piano.
